You may qualify for this program if the following conditions apply to you:

  • You and all member(s)of your household, if applicable, are Kansas resident(s) legally authorized to be in the United States.
  • You are seeking rental assistance for your primary residence.
  • You have not received rental assistance from other sources for the months for which you are seeking KEPP assistance.
  • You can demonstrate that the current health crisis has had an adverse impact on your employment or income beginning January 20th, 2020 or later. Adverse effects may include: layoff due to mandated shutdowns and business closure, job loss, reduction of hours, inability to work due to sickness, or lack of childcare.
  • You have missed at least one rental payment since April 1, 2020.
  • Your household income is at or below 85 percent of the state median income, or $63,920 for a household of four. If you qualify for TANF, SNAP, or LIEAP assistance, you automatically meet the program's income requirements.

Please note: The maximum length of assistance available is nine months per household, and maximum assistance available is $5,000 per household.

Please continue to make rent payments as you are able and communicate with your landlord. There is no guarantee of assistance with this application.

Welcome to the application. Please fill everything out in full. If you are a landlord completing this application, do not start this application until you have the signed PDF Tenant Attestation form.

We care about your privacy. The KEPP application system operates on a secure platform accessible only to KEPP staff and applicants. Your application details will not be accessible to or shared with anyone except those KEPP team members tasked with processing your application. We pledge not to print, download, store, or otherwise capture your data in any way outside of the secure application system, and will access your personal information only for the purposes of application processing.

Once the Tenant submits the form, it will email a copy of the Attestation document to the email that's provided. Please then proceed to download this document and upload it here within the application. This must be completed before you submit this application.
